We are pleased to announce that we have been named as one of the Midlands’ best companies to work for in 2020. The list represents the top organisations with the highest Regional Best Companies Index (RBCI) scores.
Employee engagement is incredibly important to us. Every member of the senior management team has developed from within the business and our retention rate is exceptionally high, with more than 35% of staff having been a part of the team for longer than a decade.
Our Employee Experience team is dedicated to championing staff development and wellbeing. Last year we introduced Mental Health First Aid Champions; specially trained individuals who can offer support to members of staff facing mental health challenges.
This emphasis on employee empowerment and pride is also reflected in the décor of our headquarters at Inspire House. The HiB Family Tree, which features the name of every member of the team and highlights long-serving individuals, is proudly displayed above the staircase in the reception area.
Quirky team-building days are held for all staff to promote collaborative working and inclusivity. On one particularly memorable occasion, a cast member from The Lion King stage show was invited to our offices to demonstrate, using musical instruments, the importance of working as a team.
Our charity committee also manages an annual philanthropic fund, which is designed to support any staff fundraising efforts, particularly within the local area. Last year, staff participated in a ‘sleep out’ on company premises to support a local homelessness and addiction charity.
Our inclusive culture is one of our greatest strengths and is what makes us one of the best companies to work for in the Midlands.
