Funds donated by HiB are being used to build a new garden and play area for the local community in Glascote, Tamworth.
The development, which is being organised by the Heart of Tamworth Community Project, will see the installation of a new children’s playground and community garden at the Sacred Heart Church and Centre. Money donated by HiB through the Community Foundation for Staffordshire Aspire Programme will go towards the building of the project with more than £3,000 going towards the purchase of the children’s play equipment.
Talking about the development and donation, Fr Michael White, a Heart of Tamworth Trustee, said “We have been keen to create a play area for younger children for some time now. We are very grateful to HiB for agreeing to fund the cost of the equipment and we are very fortunate to have wonderful volunteers who will help us to build and maintain the play area.”
The playground is due to be finished in March 2022 and will provide a safe, welcoming space for local children and their families.
Richard Berry, Logistics Director at HiB, said “We are delighted to be able to contribute to the project, which will provide a fantastic space for families to gather and enjoy the outdoors. At HiB, our vision is to make a substantial difference to the lives of people in the community and this new play area is going to benefit so many in the area.”
