Staff at HiB have helped raise much-needed funds for Children with Cancer UK during a 12 for 12 fundraising event.
A total of £2,684 was raised for the charity from donations and sponsorship of individual challenges set up by employees all following the theme of 12. Across HiB, staff members organised a wide range of tasks including 12 hours of silences, 12 5K runs, 12 minutes of Elvis tributes and 12 books read in 12 weeks, all in aid of the good cause.
Dionne Gooding, Corporate Partnerships Coordinator for Children with Cancer UK, said: “A huge thank you to HiB for raising £2,684 through their 12 themed fundraising challenge! Every day 12 families in the UK will be told their child has cancer and sadly, two in twelve will not survive. HiB’s incredible fundraising will help to fund specialist lifesaving research so that more children and young people with cancer can ring the end of treatment bell. Thank you to everyone at HiB who took part.”
Children with Cancer UK supports young people fighting cancer and their families, helping to support vital research to determine the causes, find causes and provide better care to those with cancer.
Talking about the fundraising, Keeley Morgan, Inventory Manager and member of HiB’s Charity Committee, said: “Children with Cancer UK are an amazing organisation that helps to support children and their families. The charity does wonderful work funding life-saving research and raising awareness of childhood cancer and we are so pleased that we are able to make a contribution to help them continue their activities. We’d also like to thank everyone at HiB, friends, family and the wider community for supporting the fundraising and sponsoring the many challenges that took place.”
