Two new charities chosen for 2015
As 2015 is HiB’s 25th Silver Anniversary, two of our longest serving employees were asked to nominate this year’s chosen charities…
Warren Ginsberg, Chairman and founder of the company has selected Starlight and Nigel Knapton, Technical Director and first employee has selected Mind.
Every year, one in four people experience a mental health problem and this charity provides advice and support to empower them. Mind believe that no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone.
They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Mind is a charity that relies on donations to continue supporting people with mental health problems.
The support from companies like us mean they can reach more people, answer more calls and carry on speaking out for everyone affected by mental health problems.
This charity brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by wish granting and also by providing fun, entertainment,
laughter and distraction for children in every children’s hospital ward and hospice throughout the United Kingdom.
All Starlight’s activities are aimed at distracting children from the pain, fear and isolation they can often feel as a result of their illnesses.
Together with healthcare professionals, they have developed a programme of year-round entertainment and distraction which helps over 500,000 children every year who are hospitalised for whatever reason.
Starlight is entirely dependent on the generosity of people and companies like us. They do not receive funding from the government or the National Lottery.
