Staff at HiB presented a cheque to Alzheimer’s Research UK for the money raised during the Around the World Charity Challenge.
Penny Dyer, Regional Fundraising Officer for the charity, visited the Tamworth-based Inspire House distribution centre for the occasion and met members of staff who had taken part in the fundraiser.
Throughout 2020, employees from across the company walked, ran and cycled more than 30,000 miles, travelling virtually around the world. Each member of staff had their own individual targets and helped to raise more than £8,073 of vital funds for the charity, which supports the development of treatments for Dementia.
Due to social distancing restrictions, a formal presentation was not able to take place on-site until recently. Talking about HiB’s fundraising efforts, Penny Dyer, Regional Fundraising Officer at Alzheimer’s Research UK said:
“It’s been absolutely incredible working with HiB over the past 18 months and we’ve been blown away by all their support. One in two people know someone affected by dementia, but research can change this and keep people connected to their families, their worlds and themselves for longer. It’s only with support from companies like HiB that Alzheimer’s Research UK can make breakthroughs possible for everyone impacted by Dementia. A huge thank you to all the colleagues at HiB, we couldn’t do it without you!”
As part of HiB’s vision to make a substantial difference to the lives of its people, partners and the wider community, the company supports a number of charitable causes and projects through fundraising and volunteering.
